New Crest Mining has temporarily ceased production as they await political outcomes along the ivory coast in Cote d’ ivoire.
Production is planned to pickup as soon as possible, as the measures taken were precautionary ones to insure the safety of all mine workers and their families.
The Bonikro operation is in jeapordy, along with exploration of the area. Bonikro is significant with an output of over 120,000 ounces of gold per annum.
Safeguards are in place to insure the safety of mine assets and to cooridinate an evacuation of all employees if the situation does not work out.
